Innocent and Facing Charges That Would Have Ruined My Life
New York has implemented a new law allowing certain criminal records to be sealed from public view. Under this new law, law enforcement and courts will still be able to see your criminal record, but it would be blocked from view to employers or anybody else.
The process of asking for your record to be sealed is not, by any means, simple. Convictions won't just automatically come off your record after a set period of time, and not all convictions can be sealed. Convictions that can be sealed are limited based on the type of crime, and whether a Seal Order is granted is up to the discretion of the judge hearing your application.
Because the process is more closely related to filing an appeal than trial work, we suggest contacting Attorney Danielle C. Wild if you need your record to be sealed.
